Bay Leaf

Indian bay leaf carries a gentler, more cinnamon-like fragrance than its Mediterranean cousin. We pack leaves whole and unbroken, because a cracked leaf loses its perfume long before it reaches the pan. One or two leaves are enough to shape the background of an entire pot.

100% whole Indian bay leaves (Cinnamomum tamala).

Mildly sweet and cinnamon-like, with a soft tea-leaf fragrance.

Biryani and pulao, slow-cooked curries, dal makhani, stocks and stews. Remove before serving.

Store flat in a cool, dry place to keep the leaves from crumbling.

Pouches are food-grade and resealable. Jars are airtight. Available sizes for this spice: Pouch 10 gm, Pouch 100 gm, Pouch 200 gm, Pouch 500 gm, Jar 50 gm, Jar 150 gm, Jar 500 gm.
